Importance of Research: Learn the importance of medical research and how to identify credibly sources when research hair loss information. Stylists will also gain insight into the research methods used by dermatologists when conducting clinical trials for hair loss treatments.


Advanced Skin Biology

The "Advanced Skin Biology" course provides an in-depth exploration of the skin's structure, function, and the dynamic biological processes that govern skin health. Students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the skin's complex layers, from the epidermis to the hypodermis, and learn how these structures contribute to skin protection, appearance, and overall function. The course will also cover factors influencing skin aging, cell turnover, and the impact of external and internal influences such as UV exposure, environmental stressors, and hormonal changes. By the end of the course, students will be equipped with the knowledge necessary to apply biological principles to optimize skin health treatments and interventions.

BIO

Abrahem Kazemi, MD brings with him an enthusiastic energy to provide modern, safe and cutting-edge treatments to our patients in Virginia. With his fingers on the pulse of today’s dermatology, Dr. Kazemi is transplanting back home from New York City with an enthusiastic energy to deliver modern, safe, and cutting-edge cosmetic and laser treatments to Pinnacle Dermatology. In addition to providing services in general dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and pediatric dermatology, he will serve as the Director of Cosmetic and Laser Dermatology for Virginia’s Pinnacle Dermatology sites.

Dr. Kazemi attended the University of Virginia and George Mason University for his undergraduate education, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry in addition to a Doctor of Medicine degree from Howard University College of Medicine in Washington, DC. He completed a year-long research fellowship in ethnic dermatology with leaders in skin of color. He completed one post-graduate year of internal medicine training at Howard University Hospital, and three post-graduate years of dermatology training at New York Medical College in New York City where he served as the resident cutaneous surgery chief in his senior year.

His special interests in dermatology include hair loss, psoriasis, skin cancer, cosmetic injectables, lasers, and skin of color to name a few.
